not every prospect pans out, some wash out, some become depth players, some become good but not great players, etc.

I thought the same thing when buffalo had back to back to back AHL rookies of the year.

I'll forgive you if you forgot who Tim Kennedy, Nathan Gerbe and Luke Adam are. Countless more examples all over the league.

Ottawa is in an entire different position. They could have their entire top 6, under 23-24 years of age in the next couple years.

Formenton, Norris, Batherson are looking like theyll pan out. Logan Brown not too sure. Guys like Balcers, Abramov, Chlapik etc will probably play in the bottom 6

Their defence too:
Chabot-JBD
Brannstrom-Thomson
Wolanin-Jaros

They could possibly draft Drysdale too

again, the idea that every prospect will reach their ceiling is a pipe dream. Let it play out and see what happens, but there will be players that do well in the AHL who can't play in the NHL, or will be depth players. Happens on every team,

I think it will be one more year before we can really consider them a playoff contender, which is perfectly fine. Still a lot of youth here, but once some more of their prospects reach their ceilings, especially whoever they take at 3 and 5, this team will be scary. I’m still a little dubious about their goaltending - I like Hogberg a lot, but I don’t think his ceiling is that high and a lot of Sens fans I’ve seen on here aren’t super high on Gustavsson - but they’ve got time to figure that out. Maybe I’ll be wrong about one of guys, I hope I am about Hogberg.

Ive been impressed with Hogberg and Daccord honestly. Add in Sogard 38th overall last year and Mandolese. Gustavsson has been disappointing but its all good

Oh yeah, totally forgot about Sogard. Daccord too lol. All they need is for one of those guys to be a just a little better than what they expected and they should be fine for awhile. If not, they’ve got the prospect capital, I’m sure they could find someone via trade or free agency

Daccord carried Arizona to being ranked team. He also played really well for the B-Sens this year. I see him making the Sens eventually

They have almost too many picks so yeah swapping out sone of those picks for a few players that while still young are a little further along makes alot of sense for them.
