Sabres pass. Only considering trading 8 o/a for a top 6 play driving winger or bonafide 2C. Not moving it for two middle six wingers and a 3C. Too much quantity not high enough quality.

I've come to realize from this site that there's no other fanbase that thinks more highly, illogical and delusional of their own squad more than leafs fans.

Why wouldn't the Sabres just go straight to the Wild and make that deal, then flip Dumba (or another RHD) to another team? They could use Staal as a stop-gap 2C.

I feel like if i went through your post history i would eventually find a lot of posts saying Jack Campbell sucks too. Mayfield os a minute munching defensive d-man that hits, blocks shots and kills penalties quite well. Not only is he on a very cheap contract, he is also locked up for 3 more years. In the above trade the leafs are trading 2 AHLers for him. That trade is a steal for the leafs and an easy decline for the Isles

Go for it, I don't think I've said anything about Campbell until he came to the Leafs, I didn't know anything about him. Mayfield is a slow stay at home defenceman who works in the Trotz just stay in front of your net system. Get him moving and he's nothing. He's not good, he has zero supporting evidence to suggest otherwise. Some people like him for the same reason they like Gudbranson, he hits and blocks shots. Its a throwback to a time that doesn't exist. Put him in a system were he needs to handle the puck and skate more and he's dust. He's a #6 defenceman on some teams and doesn't make the rest.
