Can’t wait till these JP trades stop. Holland was very clear his intentions are to bring him back to Edmonton. Can we at least give holland a chance to do so before sending him out for pennies on the dollar....

Benning will cost a bit more.
If skinner is the back we got a problem.
I will thank you for actually putting larsson in the right spot.

@MitchMarnerElite... what do you think of this? I think the Minnesota trade would make sense for the Oilers, a little tougher and pk help too, and then we get a 3rd or 4th line center with Sturm the following year too

IMO they shouldn't really care who likes who... i mean the oilers picked up manning after he totally screwed over McDavids rookie year... I'm sure they'll put their differences aside play for the cup rather than just being able to play in the NHL... Benning shouldn't be worth another dollar... otherwise it'll just be eating up needed cap space

I worry this team will at best be a team that makes the playoffs with a very flawed team relying on great special teams only to never do any damage. When the refs put away the whistles in the playoffs, which they do more and more the deeper you get, how does a team with no forward depth and literally terrible defensive play at 5v5 expect to succeed? There is an abundance of statistical evidence to support that claim. Possession, xG%, Shot Share etc across the board the team was really bad at 5v5. One of the worst in the league in fact.

It was his agent and charelli that had a falling out I think it was pretty clear the way it all went down JP was just doing what his agent advised. I don’t for a second think JP has a problem with Edmonton or the team. Charelli is done the new team in town Tippett and holland have both shown to provide youth more opportunity than charelli and Todd. Bear jones yam all suddenly got their chance its a different situation now.
There hasn’t actually been any opportunity to even bring him back yet. Signing after December means no post season for him so it made no sense to bring him back at any point during season. No deal makes any sense for either side until next season start date is determined. Makes a lot more sense to let him sign another one year deal in Finland to get a few months of play in before nhl camps open that’s when he will most likely return. Allows him to be in mid season form to try out for a role he rightfully earned but never got.

The refs don't "put away the whistles in the playoffs" though, that's a myth. The past few years powerplay opportunities have been higher in the playoffs than the regular season.

I think Greenway is a great depth forward option for the Oilers. Fast, feisty winger. Suits their style.
