Don't think MIN would give up a 1st for a winger. They need a C more and could use that elsewhere

That’s the 1 I’m on the fence with! I wondered about going Labanc and a 2nd for stalock and a 1st but I didn’t like that trade.

Labanc interests me and we do need a right shot top 9/top 6 forward but we don't have any room for another winger. My guess is Guerin addresses the need for a right shot guy and our need for a center in one trade and just acquires a right shot top 6 C.

As for the price we can't afford to move Al, he was better than Dubnyk and his contract allows us to expose him during the expansion draft and not have to expose what would be a draft intelligible player like Jones. In general I think it's a tad too much for Labanc, I'd rather just keep the pick and roll the dice at 25. Wild and Sharks aren't great trade partners since we're both sort of trying to rebuild on the fly.

That’s fair but in regards to Alex I wouldn’t want to trade him either... But Kappo needs to play andI feel strongly Dubnyk will rebound, but the sharks can’t afford Dubnyk salary and I doubt many can. your wild card is stalock and his cheap contract that increases his value!

And rebuilding or not the best trade partners are those who have a plethora of what your lacking and a void where your strongest! Both teams get what they need and get stronger

Like I said keeping Alex allows us to expose him during the expansion draft, if we trade him and don't sign anybody were forced to expose someone like Robson or Jones who are both very young and have some potential. Dubnyk is a UFA during the expansion draft.

And the Sharks really don't have what we need, we desperately need a top 6 center under the age of 26-27 and the one they have (Hertl) is almost certainly untouchable. The right shot wing is far less of a need. That 25th pick may end up becoming a top 6 center so that's why I'm hesitant to give it up for Labanc and would rather roll the dice in the draft.

Johnsson price is fair. I'd rather get a piece back but if it's draft day and the Leafs can't clear cap elsewhere I'm ok with it.

Kappo doesn't need to play in the NHL though. Trading Stalock paints Guerin into the corner where he doesn't have options in case Kappo struggles. As is, I think Kahkonen will have a chance to make the team and if not, he'll play in Iowa again and build off of the season he already had. Guerin literally needs to do nothing if he's going to give Dubnyk a chance.
