If I’m the Rangers and I can ship out one of Smith or Staal with Gerogiev, I’d be thrilled. Double check with one of the several quality Rangers fans on here but I feel like Georgie and Smith for a third rounder would be pretty good for both sides. They may push for a second rounder, but I think the third is fair with all the salary you’re taking

Normally a Georgiev trade to Detroit would cost the Detroit 2020 2nd and one of the other 2020 2nds. By adding Smith, you drop one of the later 2020 2nds. So the trade would be.

Georgiev + Smith for the 2020 Detroit 2nd. I don't think Rangers would accept much less than that.
