theres just so much talent in the NHL, having only a first/second team all star isn't enough. A lot of guys who had monster seasons get snubbed

The NBA does it right with having 3 All NBA Teams

You could argue slavin and stone should be here, all defensive teams would be cool too

Those are for the all star games first and second all stars are for the best players at each position for the year

I probably titled this wrong. this is first and second all star teams. no correlation with the all star game which is what you're thinking of. its the award at the end of the season. Im saying they should have another "3rd" all star team because there's just so much talent in the NHL and a lot of elite players that deserve an award for their great season

more or less placeholders. there's a lot of guys you could argue.

I would love an all defensive team as well. the NHL has opportunities to expand its trophy cabinet. im shocked there isn't an award for Assists leader... that to me is a pretty important stat that should be formally recognized. its Never too late. The Maurice Richard Trophy wasn't added till 98-99

The NBA is all about individual status. NHL doesn’t give a crap about that.
