Lmao trade a top 10 pick for an unproven player. Real stylish for buffalo. How poetic.

Drake Batherson is ready to be an impactful top 6 forward for Ottawa, they won't trade him. Also he's not a centre. He hasn't played any centre since the Sens drafted him.

If Ottawa trades up, it would be with the NYI pick and their depth of 2nds and 3rds

Islanders pick and 2nds wont get them top 10. After 20 theirs a steep drop off and everybody knows it. Youre getting Byfield have Brown and Norris and this trade they keep the Islanders pick. Ottawa gives up a good piece but gets a good player back and keeps a good pick. They come away from this draft with a franchise center a franchise dman a franchise goalie and another NHL d man

The Isles pick will be mid teens and if they lose it's probably 13-15. That's the big part if they're moving into the top ten. Trading a Developed prospect who is ready to contribute at the top of the NHL lineup in order to get magic beans that may or may not develop doesn't make sense.

Batherson and Norris aren't pieces you trade, especially at this stage of the rebuild. I think given the fact that Ottawa is virtually guaranteed a 1C at 3rd overall, I think Logan Brown is a piece they can afford to trade, but I would look to package him for established NHL help, rather than for more picks.

In general I'm against moving up in the draft. Especially to jump up at the top of the draft, the cost is high enough where you end up giving more than you get. I don't think it's a smart way to spend those valued draft assets.

Isles 1st (13-15) + Logan Brown + 2020 2nd. That’s the max I’d pay to move up to 8

Dallas can’t afford to trade legitimately their only goal-scoring prospect in Robertson. Their prospect pool is insanely shallow and I don’t see them moving any of Harley, Dellandrea, Robertson, or Oettinger unless it’s in a package for a top-tier player that fills a need.

Ristolainen would fill a need on the right side of Dallas’ blue line, but I think we can all agree that he’s not a “top-tier” RD.

Value isn’t bad, but Robertson is just a piece that Dallas can not afford to lose at this point.

You aren’t getting JRob for Risto. Risto gets you Faksa. And maybe a later round pick. Not our only forward prospect with real top six upside

Batherson was a 4th rounder.
Olofsson was a 7th rounder. Not sure where it goes.

Jokiharju was 29 OA. Nylander was 8.

It's SUPER rare I disagree with you on stuff, but I'm 100% taking this deal. Picking 3rd, 5th and 8th OA and STILL having the NYI 1st and two 2nds? I am ALL OVER THAT. I'll happily gamble on Jack Quinn's ceiling being higher than Batherson's, and probably proving it by 21-22.
