Well yeah, you build around a center over a winger 9/10 times. You build around Matthews before you build around Kucherov, yet Kucherov is better. Also 6 years in age difference.

Matthews tied Stone for take aways. He is a centre and is the single best 5v5 goal scorer.

Ovie does not contribute as much as Matthews at this point. They are two of the best goal scorers in the game today but Matthews is a centre, was 3rd in the league for take aways and kills it in the dot. Just anti leaf bias to anyone who puts Ovie on here and not Matthews.

You realize there is no right answer here, there are no categories listed to go by..for me I like ovie more, be has more tools in his bag and hes a point per game in the playoffs..

Maybe its leaf fan bias that makes you think Matthew's has to be a top ten player

Sure there are, centres are the most important players and that hardest position to play. Matthews is top 5

Incorrect, goalies are the most important players because they play 60 mins a game and a good/bad one usually determines the game... ask craig Anderson about his every other year play

So by that logic all 10 players should be goalies

Matthew's isnt top 10
