It's going to be such a hard future for this franchise, their cap is garbage. Lou has not helped you at all.

So why is Boychuk on LTIR if he was able to skate/play after that skate to the face?

Kings could use a lefty, but they're not going to give up a 2nd for him. Package up Leddy and Komarov and send them to LA for a 2021 6th and the Kings might go for that.

all about the culture. Rather be in cap trouble than the trouble this team was in in 2018

Even if Komarov was in the final year of his contract Ottawa would say no to this. You want to dump cap, you pay for it; not the other way around.

Not sure it’s that type of cap dump, per say. Like it’s hard to explain but, he’s not all that expensive and still a pretty quality player that’s great with the young guys. Komarov had Josh Ho-Sang thinking straight for a few weeks, so I think he’d do really well in Ottawa. Still though, I guess the isles could do Komarov and a 4th for a 4th

well it could be a robidas island thing, it could be a wow I get hurt every season thing and I’m 37 with younger children at home, but I see what you’re saying. This just doesn’t work without moving him or Ladd so they gotta figure something out

What was the culture problem? From an outsider it just looks like Trotz implemented a system that worked for a while.

Team had absolutely no direction. Tavares was walking and they finished with 80 points. Zero accountability from management except towards the young players. They didn’t buy into any defensive system. DOUG WEIGHT WAS THE HEAD COACH, it was an absolute nightmare

If we want an on ice coach we can pick up a UFA for less money on a one year term. Tyler Ennis was outstanding for us last season and I'd be happy to see him OR Derrick Brassard get brought back on a 1 year deal and then moved at the trade deadline to get the prospects into some games. That second year on Komarov's remaining contract is a deal breaker for me.
