2C Center Trade - Coyotes

Description
Coyotes are in an interesting spot. A couple of years ago, they traded #7 and Tony DeAngelo for Derek Stepan and Antti Raanta. I know Stepan is the guy they want to trade but the one I want to pry from them is Christian Dvorak. This is a young, cost-controlled 2C. I know they just signed him to a great contract, but they also are in cap trouble and need some room to sign Taylor Hall so it is paramount to take some salary back. Raanta is behind Kuemper so you also pick up a #1G, when healthy, who will have a lot of time in between his last start in Arizona and his first start in Buffalo. There have been enough offers for Cirelli and everyone on San Jose, I wanted to go in a different direction. I also think we'll have to retain with the cap being flat to move Ristolainen for a contributing player and I'd rather keep Montour.

they wouldn't really have one. stepan would be the place holder for his last year to give hayton more time. they might be able to sign soderberg at a discounted rate so they would do schmaltz-stepan-soderberg-hayton-richardson or some combination of that crew.

This is great idea if we were to trade the pick, but I don't think Arizona does this. Dvorak is too important for them. As a Sabres fan I would do it

To move up one round in the draft, they need to give up CD and Raanta? No way do they do this. I get Dvorak hasn't lived up yet to expectations, but this season he was finally looking really solid and is signed for 5 years. Raanta has been really solid and even for a 1 year rental should be worth a 2nd on his own if not a late first. If you take out the 2nd round pick coming back it makes much more sense but not to move up 1 round.

I like the Risto-Roslovic trade. Jets could use a good D, and it helps with the retain. Roslovic has been a disappointment in Winnipeg

So basically they are rebuilding again? Why would Hall consider resigning if thats the goal?

Arizona is getting ripped off in that deal pretty hard and Buffalo will be incredibly disappointed in what Roslovic brings compared to Risto
