Description
Tampa clears $3.3M in Cap space while adding to their Defensive unit.

Rangers clear away a Long Term albatross Contract that could have affected extending DeAngelo, Fox or even Lundkvist in the future.

Take on Johnson for awhile, but Palat comes off the books before Zibenejad's next Contract (as well as extensions for Kakko and Fox). Still shedding a ton of salary after this Season (Staal, Coburn, Smith, Lundqvist and Shattenkirk's Buyout).

    Yeah i doubt Johnson, Palat and Coburn waive their full NTC for the Rangers, Especially Johnson playing 3C which he does now here in Tampa. Still doesn't help Tampa sign Cernek, Cirelli and Sergachev seeing that this only gives them roughly $8.5 million to spend. Tampa doesn't want or need Trouba he's at least $1.5 million overpaid.

    This year would be rough. But all 3 come off the books as Miller, Lundkvist, Rykov and others come onto the scene.

    Tampa is in Cap Hell. More moves than this need to be made to fit everyone.

    Even if Trouba isn't the guy, Tampa definitely has a much bigger need on Defense than amongst the Forward group.

    Palat and Johnson have full ntcs, they dont have to go anywhere. Same with Gourde
