Their future center core already looks pretty good with Turcotte, JAD, Lizotte, Madden, Kupari, Thomas & Kempe. I think I'd go with Stutzle who can also play wing

No. Kings would never consider this. I'd be happy to take Gourde and or Johnson, assuming they would waive and throw you any of Kupari, Grundstrom, Clague, Durzi

Makes sense for who exactly? Nothing about Vilardi straight up for Sergachev makes sense.

I think the value is fine in Vilardi for Sergachev, but the Kings aren't going to trade offense for defense. The Kings are desperate for offense, and Vilardi is currently the best offensive prospect they have, at least until October. Not a bad trade proposal, but the Kings still say no.

You probably know best, but as fan of neither team I think LAK should do it. You guys have a lot of offense coming up and with one of Byfield/Stutzle, Vilardi seems expendable and Sergachev solidifies your top 4 for years to come

If this whole thing is one trade off I would consider that within acceptable margins. Takes a lot of work to fully assemble a team with contracts. There's gonna be room for error or disagreement as long as it's not outrageous. This is certainly fine.

That's assuming everyone works out, and that's far from guaranteed. Turcotte had a poor season in Wisconsin this year, and none of the other center prospects in the system project to be better than middle-six (Kupari, Madden, Thomas, etc.). If the Kings do as I suspect they will and take Stutzle over Byfield, they're going to need Vilardi as a 1C/2C option as Kopitar ages and moves down the depth chart.

If the Kings were an offensively capable team in the past, then I would be more inclined to make this type of trade. However, the Kings are fairly decently stocked at LHD, with Bjornfot, Anderson, Clague, MacDermid, and Hults all near NHL ready. Sergachev would be an immediate upgrade over any of them, but not at the expense of the best center prospect in the Kings system.

I would say that one or two of Kupari, Madden, and Thomas are now expendable, but neither of Vilardi or Turcotte are.

No it is not fine. There is a huge likelyhood that the Kings will draft Stutzle over Byfield(as they should.) So no, trading Vilardi is not fine when he and Turcotte are our future top 6 centers.

Also, Vilardi is not a 3C, he's our 2nd line center now. The Lightning have Stamkos, Point, and Cirelli who are all centers squeezed into that top 6. Luckily for them, Stamkos at LW is working out fine. After that, they have ABB and Paquette.

Moral of the story, this trade doesn't make sense for the Kings and it sure as hell doesn't make sense for the Lightning.
