Chicago would be dumb to move their whole future for Eichel.

ngl this is one of the better eichel trade proposals i've seen, and I would strongly consider that deal. Cirelli deal looks fair although I don't love the gourde contract. Defense and forward group looks stronger. Good job.

I'd take that Chicago trade if I'm hawks gm. Center core of Eichel, Toews, and Dach. Losing boqvist hurts but if ian mitchell has a good rookie year it definitely helps fill that hole. But you're not getting Crawford. We still need him

I would agree it’s not a terrible Eichel trade because each player (except Keith) has such a big upside but also a big down side. Lots of question marks. Did Strome regress or was his first season with Hawks a fluke? Is Cat a 20 or 40 goal scorer who doesn’t/can’t play defense? Is Boqvist going to live up to his offensive potential and/or become more defensively sound? The answers could go either way. Big IFs here but if all 3 players are flukes, Hawk get Eichel for a ton of spare parts and salary cap relief.

That said, not convinced the Hawks are better after the trade than before. Eichel doesn’t exceed the sum of the parts but that’s always been a personal belief of mine... I’d rather have 3 players than 1.

I'm not a big strome believer. I think Cat and boqvist are the big losses for the hawks. If mitchell and beaudin keep progressing it won't be as bad for the hawks but they don't really have a Debrincat replacement. They would need to sign a winger for around 4-5 mil

Hawks would be crazy not to make that trade!
