i think the habs could do better with a retention and an extension in place. not to mention taking kerfoots contract.

he's a one dimensional forward that scored 28 points and was on pace for 35 points. he's signed for $3.5m for 3 more years in a flat cap. he's probably worth a 4th. maybe late 3rd.

Leafs don't want Petry extended and really there is no reason even to take for one year.
Can't think of a good trade, then made a extension provision in the post

Problem right away. The new CBA memo of understanding raises the minimum salary to $750,000 next season per Elliotte Friedman.

So now your $81,496,033 cap hit becomes 81,546,033 and your team is over the cap.
