Why would Monahan waive for Buffalo? Why not trade for Domi or try to O/S Cirelli instead?

Cerlli would be my first choice but not sure Tampa would want to trade him in division. As for monahan it is not like flames have been killing it and doesn’t look like they have high pick or prospects ready to step up. If u tell Monahan you will be playing with Reinhart and skinner on second line. And 1st pp with jack. It sounds pretty good. Jack will take all the pressure and he could easily put up point per game on that line.

Cozens plus 8th oevrall at a minimum, but the Flames aren't trading him anyways. He's our #1 C. Unless they blow it up he goes nowhere.

If he's offer sheeted and accepts then they wont have a choice if they can't match it.

Teams are to scared to offsheet. If a real offer sheet Didn’t happen last offseason it never will.

His M-NTC kicks in at the start of the next league year,so in theory he could be dealt around draft time.

This proposal isn't it though

Flames reject that EASILY. A young proven C (monahan) who has not scored less than 20 goals a season since he entered the league (that’s right 7 straight seasons) for a young Unproven C who has struggled immensely And has not been able to transition his success to the pros? Come on give your head a shake

Montreal signed Aho to an offer sheet just last year, and the Canes matched, but the Canes had cap space to match, Bergevin was just hoping they were too cheap to match.

Tampa is in significant cap trouble that they will have a hard time getting out of.

That offer sheet was a joke and everyone knew that. Even the canes owner said it was joke and they did them a favor for getting his contract signed. I would be shocked!!

Problem with them trading Monahan is they’d need a replacement, which they just don’t have

Maybe if Mitts has a breakout season this year they would do it, but then we probably wouldn’t

They’d probably want Cozens to do the trade now
