Drafted 2OA in the 2000 NHL draft, he made his NHL debut in the 01-02 season, scoring 26 goals and 67 pts. The next, he really explodes with 41 goals and 87 points, pretty insane numbers for a 20 year old.

He moved to OTT on Aug 23rd 2005 because he was traded for Marian Hossa and Greg De Vries.

In OTT, he formed a 3 headed monster with Jason Spezza and Danny Alfredsson.

His best season in OTT came in the 06-07 season when he put up 105 pts including 50 goals, which also included a 7 goals, 22 pts playoff run.

After scoring 39 goals and 72 pts in the 08-09 season, he was moved to SJ along with a 5th rounder for Jonathan Cheechoo, Milan Michalek and a 2010 2nd rounder.

After scoring 65 goals in 2 seasons with SJ, he was moved to MIN for Martin Havlat.

In MIN his decline really started, because in 3 seasons, the 11-12, 12-13 and 13-14 ones, he never scored more than 24 goals.

For the 14-15 season he decided to sign with Anaheim but put up 0 goals and points in 6 games there, he was traded to FLA along with a 3rd rounder for Thomas Fleischmann but ended up playing 0 games in FLA.

His career ended with 372 goals and 791 pts in 869 pts. Elite numbers in a pretty defensive hockey game.
