Minnesota fans on here are always stating they need a center. im not sure of greenways value, but seems ok.

other trade is fine too.

interesting 3rd line for toronto.

Zacha is a quality 3C. Could be a lot better on a deeper team like Toronto

No, he isn't. Hes a 4 c, and hes startlingly bad at even strength. Like bottom of the nhl defensive player bad.
Hes awful full stop

Devils decline

As I was making this, I was trying to find a piece that fits the Devils' needs. Picks were my first and most obvious thought, but a young winger that can be the second line for them right now, and a prospect who can hopefully produce in a less-crowded forward group. I do believe Bracco can produce and play a role as a bottom nine forward for a team, but he can't do it for the Leafs. What gets the deal done in your mind?

First off, I just want to say sorry for the long explanation. Secondly, before I explain everything, I want to say I think it's a fair trade. But here's why I would say no if I'm Bill Guerin:

I think Kerfoot's max potential is the 40 to 50 pt range. He's a decent center when on top of his game but not a great center.

I think if Jordan Greenway hits his potential, he'll be around the 50 to 60 pt range while dominating physically on the boards and down low. If he reaches his potential, he'll also dominate puck possession which will come in handy. All of this, of course, is a big if.

If we already had a true 1C for the future on our team and were in need of a middle 6 Center, I think we do this trade. But we have more middle 6 centers and are in need of a bonafide 1C. Therefore if Greenway left, I think it would be in a package for that elusive 1C we seek.

Sorry for the long explanation but I thought I'd give you credit on a fair trade instead of just saying, Minnesota declines

The problem with Kerfoot is he's more of a middle 6 C and we need a top 6 C. I don't hate him as a last resort option, but I'd rather just re-sign Galchenyuk and not have to give up assets.

The leafs are paying a 2nd + 5th + Bracco to swap Johnsson for Zacha? Pass.

The Leafs shouldn't even give Gauthier a QO this offseason.

Sure. But Spezza is likely back, and between him and Malgin, I'd go Malgin.
