@tkecanuck341 has suggested Kapanen and Semyon Der-Arguchintsov for Blake Lizotte and Matt Roy, which is right on value (although I'd prefer Egor Korshkov). That trade allows you to move Alex Kerfoot and you've shaved about $6 million off your cap hit, depending on the return for Kerfoot.

Neither Johnsson nor Dermott is on our wish list.

Korshkov is fine too, if that's your preference. Really it's any B-level forward prospect that is expansion draft exempt. I think SDA is a bit higher on the "likely NHL players" list, so I'll stick with my recommendation, but if you prefer Korshkov, then I'd still be ok with that trade.

Kapenan + SDA + Greenway for Lizotte + Roy. Fair as LA gets a top 6 RW, a future depth center or wing, and a future shutdown LD. Plus trade was accepted by kings fans so yeah works well for both sides.

Dermott would be a good fit, cheap rfa who’s ready to take a big step forward. Can play either side. Johnsson being a bit older and expiring as ufa I could see you not being interested in.

Personally I would keep Dermott and pair him with either muzzin or Rielly.

Mango has a couple years before UFA status.

With Rielly, Muzzin, Sandin, Lethonen, Holl and (maybe) Roy, I don't see a roster spot for Dermott. Unless you move Holl instead. But Holl doesn't have the same trade value and looked good with Muzz this year

The idea is to keep Dermott and not pursue Roy.

I'd rather have Roy as a natural right D at 700k than Dermott playing his off side at around 2M. I like Dermott a lot, he's a very underrated neutral zone defender, but he's a moveable piece if the return includes a true RHD

The Kings get the best player in the trade, and reduce the number of players they have that require protection in the expansion draft.

The difference in value between both trades offset each other, making it unnecessary for either team to add to even out the deal.
