Why not try an 11-7 set up. Always having one of tavares Matthews or nylander on the ice would be a matchup nightmare.

As long as we can agree that the return for Kerfoot doesn't matter, or where he goes, this is a very good idea.

Would love to see Nylander given a number of shifts at centre and even shift Tavares or Matthews to leftwing to allow it. Not sure about having 3 offensive centres with no shutdown centres. Really think Brooks is on his way to Leafs to grab a 3rd or 4th line centre position as has total trust of Keefe.

I didn’t put much thought into it, sent him by o a team that could use a C for a 2nd. Team and return isn’t important.

Keefe used Tavares as a shutdown centre, Matthews as well. I don’t think kerfoot is better defensively than either of those two.

You are correct that Kerfott is not better defensively. The point is that it is a waste of time to be using these centres in defensive roles and buring them out. Alain Vigneault is a master coach at managing offensive star players minutes like the Sedins and he never wasted them playing in a 3rd or 4th line role. Looking for trouble over playing the Leafs centres.

Oh.... I would love to see Matthews on that 4th line... playing against a 4th line. I think the idea goes with keefe’s plan. Using puck possession and offence as a tool to stay off defence.

The problem is your going to burnout Matthews during the regular season. This is the mistake Torteralla made when he coached the Sedins and then they had no gas at end of games or playoffs.
