Preds pass at that offer -- would much rather have Bonino over Johansson. And if Bonino is traded, it would more likely be to shed some cap as opposed to a basically even cap swap like this.

If it's not a 2020 2nd, I think BUF needs to add a little. Other teams will beat that offer, if Poile makes Bonino available.

I don't think the Sabres offer more than that for a 1 year stop gap best suited on a third line

That's understandable. I think Bonino would be most valuable to a strong contender, at the deadline. I don't see Buffalo being one of those teams in a year.
