I'm not a big fan of Gostisbehere, Sabres have enough D men that can not play defense, Miller plays better defense in his own zone than Gostisbehere. And Miller is not that great in his own zone.

Look at his advanced numbers he has steadily improved defensively every year. He is not a shut down guy but he is not a trainwreck like Risto and he offers good offensive ability. He had 1 season with inflated numbers but his expected production has been about the same every year which would average around 40 points per 82. Pair him with someone like Joker and that would be a solid 2nd pair, Miller and Dahlin top pair and then Borgen and McCabe for your shut down pair

How are you going to pair Miller with Dahlin when this trade is for Miller going to Flyers for Gostisbehere?

If you want Anderson at that rate, extend an offer sheet, because we won't do that trade.

It's universal that the cost of Anderson is a second. Why is this suddenly inflated? Anderson is not worth a 2nd and a 3rd in any GM's eyes.

It is not universal. That is the accepted bare minimum return because that's what the offer sheet compensation likely would be. Except that we're better off gambling on him bouncing back, so that's not a trade we actually want to do. So if you want Andy for a 2nd - which is certainly possible - then you do it via an offer sheet.
