The Blues would need to give that some thought.

Why would the Caps trade their expansion draft exposure goalie for a 6th?

You get a 6th Back instead of 0

But then what goalie do they expose, and how much does it cost to get that other goalie?

You just have to sign an AHL goalie at the deadline like 50% of the teams did with Vegas draft

Highly doubt Fleury waives to go to Buffalo

And why are the Sabres giving up that much?
They need a goalie, but not an old & declining goalie who’s quite overpaid at this point
And Tuch is coming off a down season & a high contract of his own

Neither of them will have much trade value
You’ll get something “ok” for Tuch, bc of promise he could get back to totals of his 1 previous good season, but that’ll be mitigated by the risk he won’t & is signed to a huge overpayment of a contract if he doesn’t

And with Fleury,
you’ll probably have to pay to get rid of that contract
And that’s IF he’d waive

No interest in that Jackets deal; Stephenson may have done nice things over there in Vegas, but we need picks and don't need wingers. (Or bottom-6 centers, for that matter.)

Or not do a silly trade of the one that you have under contract and let Vegas sign some scrub.

A silly trade? A 6th or a 5th is kind of a good return for an AHL Goalie

I'd take that Blues deal for sure. Elvenes looks like a player.

Well, if there is one thing that Buffalo would know, it's goalies that should probably be in the AHL.
