I agree but it’s because they both make about half as much as Marner. In a vacuum, Marner is probably the better player than both, but with the money being tight at a flat cap and because Parayko/Jones play a premium position (top line RD) both STL and CBJ would probably be hesitant to trade them for Marner straight up.

The NSH proposal seems fair. OTT, CBJ, STL all hang up the phone. Leafs lose the DAL trade by a wide margin.

I’d much rather keep Parayko than get a redundant right winger who only makes it harder for us to sign Dunn, Pietrangelo, Schwartz etc.
