The Cirelli-Newhook swap is an interesting idea.

As a Colorado fan idk if I would want to do it, which is how I know it’s reasonable lol

Why bother trading an elite prospect for Cirelli when you can just OS him

Because then Cirelli has to choose to leave Tampa, which is unlikely to happen.

Then the Avs pass. Already top 5 in basically every team category and don’t have to give up an elite prospect who will be on an elc. Hard pass.

As much as I like the idea of Cirelli on the Avs, I don't give up Newhook for him. I would be willing to offer some package of Kaut or Bowers and good picks, but it shouldn't exceed the offer sheet compensation by much. If Tampa declines, then try the offer sheet. Really the trade is just for diplomacy.

I have no idea how attached to TB Cirelli is. Maybe there is no chance. I'd like to think he considers it from Colorado though, as the Avs can afford to pay him more and give him a chance to win over the foreseeable future. While the Bolts are busy trying to jettison players to make the cap work, the Avs will be looking to add. I can see a good offer being something Cirelli at least has to think hard about.
