I couldn’t care if Bjorkstand’s WAR was 15 and Gaudreau’s was only 1. I won’t use their
model to evaluate players. Advanced stats only tell a piece of the puzzle. They’re a good tool, but they’re not the “be all end all” when it comes to players.

When one player's stats look so much better than another player's stats, you have to notice that maybe there is a flaw in your judgement.

If you dislike EvolvingWild's metrics, I will use JFresh and Dom Luszczyszyn, I'm sure you have heard of them

According to their model,

Bjorkstrand is worth $10 680 000
Gaudreau is worth $7 010 000

One players stats better than the others???
99 point career high vs 40. 3 time PPG+ player vs 0. End of argument.

In no world is Bjork worth over 10 million lmfao laughable

If you don’t have the mental capacity to actually watch a game of hockey, then please get off cap friendly and delete your account. I’ve been around here wayyyy longer than you buddy. Get out of here

You being here longer than me doesnt make you right, nor does it give you any authority over me. Also, dont call me "buddy", since I do not know you.

Danault has Gallagher who is a capable 30 goal scorer. If Danault was better offensively, he would have more points to show for it. It doesn’t take EvolvingWild to figure out that one. Like I said, Danault comparable is Backland. A good 2C or great 3C. Monahan is a good 1C, great 2C. He’s a tier above Danault.

They are losers because their model is completely inaccurate and ridiculous when they tweet things like Valeri Nichuskin had a better season than Drai.

its inaccurate because it takes more in to consideration than just offense?

I can use career stats to say Joe Thornton is better than David Pastrnak.

Their model clearly isn’t very good if they consciously believe this. Or they are just trolls and did it all for click bait. Either or, i don’t listen to a single thing they say

Draisaitl playing spectacular offense shouldnt ignore the fact that he plays with McDavid and his defense is bottom 5 in the league.

Its very possible that you do not understand the model or refuse to believe it because it goes against what your eyes tell you.

The human brain is not able to remember each and every tiny detail from a game while a computer is more than capable of doing so.

Based off stats this year
MIN probably accepts 1 for 1 tbh
MTL might say yes, Derek Ryan is still a solid player
CBJ says no (Yes if i base it off multiple years)
and i dont think SJ cares too much for bum Sam Bennett

MTL might say yes are you kidding ? Ryan is worth a 3rd rd pick and a 2021 isn’t close to get you Danault

@mhockey91 you need to understand that Danault is a SOLID 2C. Stop saying 3C or comparing him to Backlund. Don’t say he’s playing 1C in MTL because they don’t have anyone else. False, he has GREAT chemistry with Tatar and Gallagher, they are one of the best line at 5v5 in the league and shutting down opposing team first line. He’ll never do 70 points, but staying in the 50 points is damn good + he’s not playing on the PP ( rarely ).

Yes it is, try to find an AGM of another team trading for Ryan, there’s none. Even for a 4th rd pick people will pass

Yea, I see your point, what if I added one of Valimaki or Kylington and changed the 1st into a 2nd? Would that be fair?

thats a solid No from MTL, Danault is a defensive beast whos Defensive game has just been getting better and better while putting up 45+Pts, they're not trading him for a C 6 years older who have never hit 40pts and a likely high 1st round pick.

The Jackets would likely have to decline. Bjorkstrand was our best forward, so he is a bit higher value to us than he's being given credit for, but the timing of Gaudreau's contract and the fact that he seems to want to walk means we'd be in a likely lose/lose situation in two years, and we've had enough of those lately.

Sj does not like Bennett, the cheap shots he has thrown our player. No need for him and no respect for him.

IMO, I do like Danault more than Monahab, but the CBJ Trade makes this team a lot worse

Danault is a 50 point 2-way 2C, thats like saying Backlund is better than Monahan which is obviously wrong or Backlund would be Calgary's 1C

You shouldnt have wasted your time with this, hes using biased advanced stats to make it favor his player choices, Gaudreau has been a career 15+ GAR and had the worst year of hia career this year Bjorkstrand is the exact opposite.

Valimaki's value is the same or higher than Romanov no chance hes mobed for a rental in Danault let alone adding a 2nd. Ignore the leafs fan that posted this and knows nothing.
