Big fat no! From det

Habs would be much better if they kept Chiarot and passed on Gostisbehere.
Also, Kulak is better than Ouellet, why trade him.

Am I missing something in the DET trade. Why are we giving up a 3rd round pick for an AHL defenceman, who even with the retained salary is making 2.5 mill a year for 2 more years.

Alzner sucks Detroit's not giving up a 3rd for him, And St Louis declines as well.

Don't even need to consider that for a while? LMAO I don't blame you! It would absolutely take a 1st to move Alzner's contract

Yes, Detroit should absolutely give up a 3rd for a defenseman making $2.625 million for 2 years, who also happened to be one of the worst defensemen on our AHL team.

Overpayment to STL, Dunn through an OS would fetch a 2nd and Allen CFvalue's around a 4th/5th rounder so adding an NHL ready prospect and Lindgren's too much.
Thanks for all your comments and some taken into consideration.
I've updated the team and also added an explanation based on your comments (should've done it before publishing).
Should've added a description before publishing.
STL trade makes sense for both teams. Cap isn't moving and STL has approx. 2M in cap space. Dunn can get them more but we're taking Allen off their hands to free up $$$ so they can sign Pietreangelo.
Pietreangelo will get at least 2M raise alone which doesn't give them any more room for Dunn. One way or another they're going to loose him with an OS or trade. Adding Allen gives them 4.35M in cap relief. Then adding Mete (resign approx. 1.5M/year) and Lindgren (750K), still leaves them with approx. 2M in cap space.
Based on the comments, I've reverted the PHI and OTT trade as I agree Chiarot and Kullak area better 3rd/4th LD option than Gotsibehere and Oulette.
DET trade for while getting a lot of comments is quite simple.
DET has the WORST D in the league and they need some stability on their back end until they're younger prospects are ready to make the jump. While Alzner may have been bad in MTL / Laval, he can provide them some stability and play top 4 D pairing minutes in Detroit for a couple of years until their young prospects step up. Having salary retained and giving up a 3rd rounder isn't such a tough pill to swallow for Detroit.
