Flames say no because Andersson is the flames only good right handed defensmen

I like the idea of the jets adding Kerfoot, but don't like them losing Copp. It's kind of a lateral move. I would prefer the jets trade picks instead of Copp

Nope, no chance. Easyiest decline of my life. I respect Nylander as a player but hes a lesser version of Gaudreau and we dont need another Gaudreau like player, especially not for that package. I dont even think I would do Andersson for Nylander 1 for 1

i guess my main question is why do the leaf fans think Nylander is worth so much? going off averages hes a 20-25 goal 60-65 point wingers. obviously this year was a career year. hes not exactly young at the age of 24 (not saying hes old). i don't see how his value is a top 4 RHD , a prospect a 1st and 2nd round pick. that's just me

Flames fan here. Like many players on teams that are not yours his value gets white washed by quick stats. The reality is Nylander was mismanaged by Babcock. He was not given opportunities that he should have been. Under Keefe he started to show what he’s actually capable of. Nylander should be a 75-80 pt winger with goal scoring potential.

To be honest I would prob take everything else out of the trade and look at it one for one. Andersson is the type of defencman Toronto needs. He’s young, on a great contract and has proven he can go against some of the toughest competition in the nhl and lock them down while still contributing some offence. I think the flames consider it with our need for a legit top 6 Rw as well as need for additional scoring.
If we can re-sign Brodie it would lessen the loss of Andersson and Brodie is still only 30. Having Nylander will also give the flames options to move Lindholm to C or have a 1-2 punch of Lindholm / Nylander as our top 2 RW

last 3 years his ppg and pp82 is essentially equal to sam reinhart, who they claim is created by jack eichel (although jack eichel isnt as good as auston matthews to them, who nylander plays with frequently)

yeah... im just confused as to why hes getting Marner like value. Marner might actually be better than Matthews but he plays a less important position. that being said this trade would be closer to marner than nylander

Nylander is a good player. But wingers are way easier to acquire than RHD. Andersson will be a steal in a few years.

No, Andersson should really just be considered untouchable, he is basically our next Gio, Flames will want to keep him for as long as possible.
