Terrible for SJ. Sharks dont want or need to trade Hertl. So it will have to be an overpay. 20 1st, Jokiharju and Mittelstadt.

I figured the Sharks could use some pieces for a rebuild. That wouldn't be an overypay, that would be robbery.

This would be close to the ideal roster going into next year. I think the trad values might be a little off but negligible. A little more to San Jose if they are taking Okposo. A little less to Arizona as they badly need the cap assistance. A conditional pick attached to the Edmonton deal in the event that JP stays in Europe

Like i said, an overpay. Hertl is a huge part of the future in SJ, we dont need or want to trade him.

Huge part with two years left on his contract and with little to no reason to re-sign with them as they're not going to be successful until those terrible contracts expire, which might very well take a decade.

San Jose is in a weird position because they’ve been a “win now team” for the last decade+ and have many pieces to show for that like: Karlsson, Couture, Hertl, burns, Labanc, Kane, Mier, etc... issue is, they have a lot of holes on their roster (specifically in net) that are holding them from being a contender and don’t have their 3rd overall pick this year. They should’ve made the Karlsson trade the 2019 first round pick but obviously that’s hindsight. No one attempted them to fall as hard as they did.

Calgary is not taking on $4.5M in additional cap for a 30 year old player who hasn't scored over 30 points in any of the last three seasons
