Nothing outrageous I hope

Created by: PLDGEY
Team: 2019-20 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 7, 2020
Published: Jul. 7, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Acquire 1-2 year bad contracts in return for some picks and roster players.

STL: they need some cap dump. Downgrading from ~28-31OA to 64OA

ARI: More center cap dump! They also get a great all situation 3C who can definitely play into the Arizona system.

WPG: They get out of the extra year of Perreault's contract, and shore up their 3C (they've been trying to fill for a while). Anisimov is some vet leadership who can plug the hole at 3C for one year until one of your players can take it full time.

OTT takes some cap to get to the floor, translates some of the clog at center to wingers, acquires some mid-range picks, and a few roster players that can plug holes, and some Vet stability leadership to replace losing Hainsey/Boedker/Pageau/Namestnikov/Ennis/DeMelo

-----------------------------

Use the picks in trades to move up at the draft or acquire key rebuild cornerpieces.

Besides the line construction the moves and thoughts are great. Bring in some vets to provide leadership and allow young players to grow then ship them at the deadline for same assets for the future

Sorry didnt spend much time on line construction, just kinda threw the guys I would want up in the majors and let the chips fall where they may as far as lines are concerned.

How would you set it up

Some guys are missing because you have the roster set on this year but Zub would be there on D and Boedker gone.
I'd try to find a way for White to get into top 6 and theres no point in having Norris and Balcers sit on the fourth line

I quite like this, except for giving up Tierney, but if we do this theres not much of a choice. Ottawa is going to be a scary team in 3-5 years.

How has AA been in OTT? Ill be honest...I don't watch a lot of Sens games, but if the jets are giving up a 2nd for him it would be so he plays in the top 9 (6 preferably).

I'd say solid third liner but could fill in second line for short amount of time if injuries occurred and he had the winger help. Secound might be a little steep but they are taking back the Perault contract. Could probably send a 5, 6 or 7 back to WPG in return

It should be no picks, it should be a 1 for 1. They each have 1 year left, they're both 3rd line guys, just changing roster positions for each team and put up the same numbers. The 2nd rounder is a massive overpayment.

The jets have been trying to fill the hole at 2C for a long time, not 3C. They have a lot of guys that can play 3C. If the jets are giving up a 2nd I hope they would target a guy capable of playing in the 2C slot.
Maybe AA can be that guy, but a 2nd is just too much. Chevvy must know AA from his time in CHI. Maybe there is something there? Maybe he develops chemistry with Laine and Ehlers? Worth a shot for 1 year, but not at the price of a 2nd IMO

I find It hard to believe that Steen would waive his absolute NTC to go from a Stanley Cup contender to the Senators.

That is actually genuinely my mistake, I thought Anisimov had 1 year less than Perreault. With equal years I dont think OTT would want a 1 for 1, but you give us a 4th we would give you a 6th
