Team: 2020-21 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 7, 2020
Published: Jul. 7, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Jonas Brodin may seem bad but the value is fair (Trade will happen at the TDL)
Minnesota Receives a young 3rd or 4th line shut down center (who can play wing) and can play top pk
Receives a good prospect in Sikura whose put up good number in the AHL and NCAA
Minnesota also gets a 1st rd pick and saves money in this trade unlike the Strome deal where they then sign him. But they could then sign a top 6 foward in FA with the money they save

There's rumors that he going to return to the play in series but he is 35 and had a big surgery and I could see him retiring soon

Idk, I think the Value there. They Receive a prospect, who has good stats in the AHL and NCAA. A 3rd or 4th line Center (who can also play wing) whose a shutdown guy and can play on their top pk. and a 1st round Pick and potentially a 1st and a 3rd. When I was making this I think this deal would happen at the TDL.

The 1st is fine but they are looking for a top line center as they already have several bottom 6 centers. Sikura was a good prospect but I just do not see him as an NHL player, at least with CHI. He has already been passed up by other Hawks prospects. Strome is an interesting piece for a deal like this and if not him then probably Kurashev.

Also kampf is on a good contract and Minnesota then can go out and find a 2 line center in FA with the money they saved in this deal. Minnesota will get more in this deal then the Strome trade.

Idk Value is fair, a prospect with good stats, a shut down 3rd or 4th line center and a 1st and then sign a guy with the money you saved in the deal like strome type player in FA

Doesn't fit our needs at all. We need a top 6 C if we trade Brodin

Ik that, but you can sign a top 6 foward with the money you save. your getting more then trading for just Strome straight up.

I get where you are coming from but the best FA center is Haula who is more of a 3C plus Minny has had him already

Who? Lol, the best center in free agency is probably Haula and he's not a top 6 C and probably doesn't want to sign here. I don't even really like the idea of Brodin for Strome, Strome is an atrocious skater and I think that will limit him from becoming the impact player he's talented enough to be.

I don't see that big of a problem with Haula going back to Minnesota. Chicago has brought back some old player and it seemed like there was no beef. and Haula, Kampf, Sikura, and a 1st seems like a better trade then the Strome and with Strome there maybe a risk, he only worked out with Chicago and if your contining your rebuild it can hurt strome's potential and then Minnesota would regret the trade

Most likely this deal would happen at the TDL and then you use the money you save for the 2021 FA and these player will help your rebuild and with the pick you could draft a future 2nd line center

If we wait to decide Brodin's future until the trade deadline, Guerin would be an idiot. We either need to extend him in the offseason and keep him, or trade him while he has a full year on his deal to get the most value out of him. Sorry but this won't cut it for our best defenseman. If we trade him, it's for a top 6 center.
