Can't see the Rangers going for that. Hertl is a quality player, but he's not a franchise player as Lafreniere projects to be. If Staal had like 4 more years on his contract, I could see this maybe being considered, but he's on the final year of his contract.

Is this a serious trade? Not trying to be rude. But you really think Hertl is worth pick 1? Even with the other first coming back (I think we can all agree that Andersson+Staal is worth nothing or less than nothing)? I think you would have to add quite a bit.

If NYR get Lafreniere there are only 3 players I would even consider. McDavid, Draisaitl, Chabot.
