Hmm, good job. Everybody is saying Carolina doesn't do it, but if you take off pieces, Toronto doesn't do it either. I think you made a post that is satisfing for fans of both teams. I wouldn't mind this Marner trade, though I obviously don't see Marner going anywhere.

Now if you want Pesce, Dzingel, Bokk, and Bean sure. But there goes the old argument of sum of parts doesn’t equal a first line player.

It’s pretty much Liljgren for Bokk. Dzingel is a throw in. Now to get Marner imo, you need a top 4 shutdown RHD and a top 6 Marner replacement and this trade does both

EASY pass from Carolina. 1st, we don't have the cap. we don't need anotther playmaker, Necas has upside as good as Marner's, and his skating is already better. AND Pesce is Carolina's only signed long term RD man

Necas’ skating is better than Marner? Marner is one of the most electrifying skaters in the league

And Necas' is better. I promise you 100%. Necas may be the best skater in the league in terms of his all around motion. He's absolutely beautiful to watch. The fact you don't know this is exactly why so many Carolina players are underrated btw.

While im not doubting the value, it just doesn’t make a lot of sense for us to throw in Necas too. Adding Marner would be fantastic but a burden on the long term outlook on the team. Even selling off a few over the overpriced long term contracts in Nino and Gardiner, we would have Toronto level cap issues in 21-22.

I would love to add Marner. Putting him beside Aho and Turbo, while having Svech and Necas drive a 2nd line would be amazing but the cap space isn’t there in 21-22 and 22-23.

I will not make claims about Necas vs Marner but I don’t see us adding him into any trade.
