I think it’s time to buy, a few star Ontario kids and sell returning home and being apart of something great along with all the kids coming. Might be a little overspend but may entice some of the kids longterm. I was thinking pietrangelo and hall to start, and possibly a trade for Murray

No chance STL gives up a 1st rd pick in that deal. They're both on the final year of their contracts and neither are what you could call a cap dump.
STL could retain cap on Allen, Steen and Bozak, and move all three for late picks.

There’s a bunch of dough coming off with gaborik and Ryan, but yes needs to be the right fit, hall may not be the right add to help the kids and pietrangelo might be a little old for the idea, but I’ll keep looking for the idea lol

I’d be down if they drafted Byfield and Drysdale, they’d be in need of wingers. So next summer maybe sign a guy like Jaden Schwartz or similar

Ya not overly flashy, not crazy pricey and ring or possibly plural, ottawa could use the hype of something flashy signature to turn negative tide, but just for the sake of it, definitely detrimental longterm. A poor mans tavares at 2/3 the price, could be some what ideal, but 2/3 the price tough to come by, flat cap and no buyouts, might make for some interesting transactions, especially in a expansion draft year. I just saw so many cap dumps and draft there way out of it longterm builds, that a wrinkle needed to be added.

I don't think Hall is the way to go but Pietrangelo would be intersting. Then they would just have to fill the bottom 4 spots, that would be a nice start to a D corps. Or play them on separate pairings. I would stay away from Murray. I like the idea of giving Hogberg a chance and Murray tends to get injured more than I'd be comfortable with.

We dont need Pietrangelo and he doent need us. Neither of the time lines add up we are still trying to get good draft picks and he is trying to win now

If Im the jets I just keep Matty P for one more year. Right now they have cap space and shouldn't be giving up a 2nd to free up anymore.
THe STL deal is too much to create cap space for Pieterangelo too. I think Allen has decent value and you could ship him out for a middle pick/prospect without retention
It will most likely take a kicker to move Steen, but a first seems a little steep.

Rarely do things line up perfectly and he did just win now. His caliber of defenseman don't come around often so if he showed some interest in joining a young team to help them win the cup in the future, I definitely think about it. I think his preference would be to stay in St. Louis, but that's far from guaranteed right now.
