Sharks decline? 2 top 35 picks? Seems like an easy no for them

I think the Sharks window has closed. It's time time to start re-tooling IMO. Look at how quickly LA has built up their system, they will be relevant again soon.

Side note, why do NYR fans want to move Georgiev? Shesterkin is expansion exempt, NYR can run Shesterkin/Georgiev and have one of the leagues best tandems. Buy Lundqvist out, or try to trade him. If that fails hope he retires like Luongo did. It's sad it has to end this way but very few players get the fairy tale ending

Care to look who they got back? Or at least acknowledge what we are parting with?

I agree and it sounds like what they are going to do but when you have a prospect like Tyler Wall who I can see being a starter in this league as your future potential backup, it would be ill-advised to not entertain offers for Georgiev.

Not gonna disagree on that but sounds like Doug Wilson isn't done yet and this roster looks pretty formidable to me.

They aren’t rebuilding though. Their chips are still in and from the looks of things, they intend to put in more.

That alone should get the GM fired.

The problem is they spent huge on 3 old d men. They’ve all declined. What is it, like 26+ on 3 d men that aren’t that good anymore. That’s impossible to recover from.

Depends on how much DW likes Strome and Geogriev. If Geogriev is actually going to be an NHL starting goalie and Strome isn't a one-hit wonder, then this is great for the Sharks. Maybe it's the Tampa 1st and Col's 2nd instead of the high SJ 2nd, but if those two players play to their potential then this is a great trade for us.

Two of the Sharks biggest needs are a good-skating, right-handed offensive catalyst and a new goalie. This trade should solve those. Sign me up.

Not necessarily, but I agree it’s stupid.

DW doesn't wanna give a green light yet to a rebuild yet so idk.

Well, he’s very bad at his job then. I guess in fairness there’s not much he can really do. That franchise is sunk for 5 years. If i were him i would march into the GMs office, propose a 3 year tank to try to build a Pittsburgh.

Yeah I think if they moved their top pieces it could come relatively quickly too.

Between Karlsson and Burns I don’t think they would get anything. I think they would likely have to retain just to move them.
