Assuming Marchand, Bergeron, and Rask are still good and healthy...

I mean obviously, but if you take away 2/3 of any teams top line I doubt any of them remain contenders

But Berg is getting old and is the glue that keeps the line together, don't think its unreasonable to expect him to decline over the next few seasons

No really good FAs that off-season for them to capitalize on with the cap space, wonder if they take a step back for a year and restock the prospect cupboards

There’s a lot of variables with the bruins future. Like you said, the health of the aging core is one, tuukka potentially retiring is another one (the biggest one imo), Krejci could very well still be here. And like everyone’s said there’s plenty of cap space to fill in a couple gaps if everything line up wise stays as is. Think the bruins are in fine shape for the immediate future.

I think they'll resign Krug which helps make this roster look a little better but losing your current 2C and having your 1C nearing 40 is never good. They obviously won't implode but we're not going to be seeing the same dominant team

I believe if Krug was going to be resigned, he'd be signed right now.

He is missing Krug (who even at 7.5 Mil leaves 9.5 mil to sign a 2nd line RW)

With Krug, they have the same top 5 in the league defense that they have now (but better and more experienced)
with a 2nd line RW, they have a better top 6 than rn (with a sick 2nd line)
and a better bottom 6 than rn (because its the same guys, but more experienced and in their primes)
The only concern would be Tuukka and the backup (but thats not a huge concern because Swayman and Vladar are solid goalie prospects (dont wanna overrate them, but hobey baker and Vladars stats)

So basically take this team, add Krug, add a 2nd line RW and you still have 3 mil

You're probably right but, it could be tough, Hughes is up the same year and Benning has f**ked the cap with Myers, Sutter, and Eriksson

Hard to say due to all the current variables plus the playoffs havent even happened yet. If they win the cup, does he stay or go?
