Gotta get this off my chest

Team: 2020-21 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 8, 2020
Published: Jul. 8, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
To every poster here who keep posting Gaudreau trade to NYR, pls know this: we're not going for the cup next year. Our goal for next season will be to contonue giving ADA, Fox and Lindgren big minutes, increase Chytil's, Lemieux's, Gauthier's and Kakko's ice time while giving decent rookie-like ice time to Kravtsov and Miller and all that while giving the net to our 2 headed monster in goal.

So when you guys see Rags fans moving Strome and Trouba for more futures like picks/prospects/young NHLers, it's perfectly normal, it's called building for the future, which is still 100% what we're doing in NYR.

Thanks for the insight. Wild pass on Strome, he is a better fit in San Jose IMO.

What, a team that lacks offense at the C position wouldn't want him lol? Also yeah agreed Strome would be a great fit in SJ

With Zibenejad being on a great value contract for only a couple more seasons, the long term deal to Kreider who's close to 30 the Rangers really should be going for it.

I’m good with the Faksa for Howden swap. But give us our third rounder back. Lol

When Mika becomes UFA in 2022, I except us to extend him for 6-7 years at a 10 mil AAV so we'll have more seasons to go for it, I'm not even nervous about that hahaha... I'm more concerned about not developing our great youth

Amen bud! I know it's all fun and games on here but in reality Gorton would be a fool to go all in next year due to cap issues. Wait 1-2 years and the buyouts and bad contracts clear and by then Chytil, Hajek, Lindgren, Kakko, and the rest of the young studs are developed into stars. Then, you can swing for the fences and hopefully create a dynasty. Creating more cap issues now and sacrificing draft picks would be a mistake.

Lol I didn't know that. Thanks for the clarification. I remember people being high on him a couple of years ago but I guess I need to update myself on Rangers prospects lol

I don't think that's the issue, doesn't he have a NMC starting next season?

He specifically requested to go to NY to be close to his wife (girlfriend?) And has a full NMC after this current season. Not sure how they worked out NMC clauses in the new CBA and when they are extended to or when they start but hes definitely not waiving

If I needed to rank our D prospects in tiers it would look like this:

A: Miller and Lundkvist (oh how ironic)
B: Jones and Robertson
C: Reunnanen
Projects: Hajek/Rykov, both are already 22/23 their time to prove themselves is next year, If they don't make it then forget it for them

Yeah, but later in the summer, like for Subban in 2016

We took advantage of Stepan's NTC kicking in in 2017 by moving along with Raanta for ADA (thx a lot Chayka) and 1st rounder (Andersson... gulp), there's a good chance we do the same with Trouba

NJ is pretty near from NYC haha, the 2 arenas are literally half an hour away from each other in car

Yeah I agree with this.

Panarin is on fire; Kreider is still young; Buch and Zib are still cheap; all set in goal; deep lineup. There's no reason why Rangers shouldn't be looking to compete, if not in 2020/21 (due to cap limitations from Staal/Lundqvist/Smith) then most certainly in 2021/22 onwards.

Interesting. I assumed that the moment the current season ends, his NMC kicks in. I guess time will tell where he ends up then.
