What makes you think Robertson will be NHL ready, let alone on the 2nd line?

Also, not sure if you've actually watched Cernak, but he's not all that great. He had a hard time making good passes while under pressure and constantly out of position and sometimes has bad decision making. He's young and I'm sure he'll get better in those areas, but idk about next season let alone be the long needed 1RD that the Leaf's have needed.

This doesn't look too damn bad.
1st isnt fun to lose, Durmott might end up being good, and there's differing opinions as to whether or not Cliffor is exchanging a second for a third.
HAVING SAID THAT
Top 4 RD in
No core out
Lily, robertson and Sandin stay,
Grabbed a new 3C ( although i have to admit i do not know much about Faksa)
And dumped enough cap.

I would:
Move Spezza to 4C
Not resign Clifford,
Engvall at 4LW- Barabanov @ 4RW ( BArabanov and Lehtonen need to be given a chance out of camp to save face to future over seas players )
Muzzin Holl
Sandin Lehtonen

Generally speaking though, you gave up few MAJOR assets and did the team well in my eyes,

Lets let the rest of Capfriendly hate. GO!

No way Clifford signs that low and why is Mikheyev signed so high? I would think 1.5M for 2 years would be more realistic.

Along side the likes of Marner and JT, a player the quality of Robertson will flourish along side such elite talent. If not the Leafs, he would have to go to Europe because he is ineligible for the AHL if im not mistaken. SOMEONE CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG.. I swear i read that somewhere. I think the leafs would prefer to have control of the development of a player like Robertson and not let his next year be controlled by the likes of a KHL team or the like

I would agree, Mikky is payed a bit much in this one, probably 2years X 1.75M is reasonable i think?
Clifford may go for 1.3-1.5M if resigned i think. He doesn't merit he contract of a Mikky but deserves more than the likes of say a GOAT or Marincin

I think you signed Mikheyev too high, probably give him the Engvall deal based on games played.

I dont think Stars do that trade.
I think your right on Dermott's value, but dont agree with moving him.

Sign him to his QO offer IMO at the very least.

Kerfoot value is good.
Not on board with bringing back Clifford unless it's on PTO deal.

Why not just offer sheet on Cernak instead of giving a 1st rounder? It's more likely then this inter division trade.

Dont see Robertson ready to be on Leafs.

He is ineligible for the AHL and would likely just play another year in the OHL.

I believe you are wrong, isn't he in the CHL?

Also regardless who's line someone is on they still need to be NHL caliber. Matthew's and Tavares can't play for him like its NHL 20 lol. If that's the case the Kings can just skip the rest of Kaliyevs development, put him with Kopitar, and hope he gets 30 goals...

your only signing Mikky for 1.5 if it's for 1 year.....on a 3 year deal i think what he podted was fair as that is what it will take...i mean my god Dubas sat by his bedside....they are best friends...

There is no sense of putting Roberton on 3rd or 4th line....that would help him develop.....he can but should not go back to OHL.....he's proven he has done all he can.....so it's Europe or NHL.....and again...putting him on Leafs roster does him no good on bottom pairing

Lol, Leafs fans dont understand hockey. Even the best prospects selected in the draft lottery usually start on the 3rd line. On a team as deep as the Leafs offensively you can bet your ass he'll be starting on the 3rd or 4th line whenever he finally makes the NHL. Do you understand the difference between the bottom 6 and the top 6?

ya...i do...do you.....it's like playing Sandin on 3rd pair d getting no experience.....be a waste to have him anywhere else...personally i don't think he will make it next year,we will have to wait til the playoffs start and see where they play him...problem with this roster is too many players that are still unproven....Lehtonen...Robertson,Barabanov,Mikheyev and Engvall...

You have no concept of development, do you? Sandin was on the 3rd pair... the whole point of starting rookies on the 3rd and 4th lines and 3rd pair if they are defensemen is to slowly introduce them into the NHL and adapt to it while playing anywhere from 7-15 mins a game. Very rarely do players go from the CHL or KHL to playing top minutes in the top 6 or top 4 of an NHL team...

Sandin was not ready in my opinion......and ya i do.....the point i am making is Robertson should not be put on a checking line when he is an offensive player.

So when he does make the NHL he shouldn't play with Kerfoot and Kapanen because he is too offensive to play with them?

Well i don't think either of those 2 will be on the team by then and not......and if they are and he is a bust like Engvall then ya.......but all the Leaf fans seem to think he's the next best thing and unlike other teams with the veteran JT and quality player that is Marner i think playing him higher up on the roster is better....not a lot of teams have that kind of quality on the second line.....not to mention how bad the LW looks anyway......Hyman is the only one that should be on first.....the rest of the options are all unproven commodities...try him in the playoffs or next year for first 9 games if he does not cut it send him to Europe to play with men as he can't go to AHL

Sammy’s been high on Cernak before he entered the league. He knows him pretty well.

Agree about Robertson. Personally I think he’s too small to get thrown to the lions this early.
