What is wrong with Kuznetsov and why are you trading him?

Idk. They’re pretty desperate to end the drought and prove to Eichel that they want to win now. They’d think about it. The unprotected part could be an issue though

No, there are heaper ways to get a 2C, than an unprotected first and their future #2

I agree that the unprotected 1 is an issue for a 28yo 2C, but if they couldn’t get another trade done for a 2C, I was just saying I wouldn’t completely rule this out. There may be other pieces involved, but like I said, the Sabres are desperate to end this

I love how this guy was talking earlier about how low Nylanders value really is and how overrated he is, then he makes thislaugh. A future #2 defense man and a potential top 10 pick for an overpaid 2c. They could just sign Haula who will be cheaper and not give a whole load of assets but I guess this is how it goes

That would be a tough pill to swallow but Kuznetsov would be huge for Buffalo... including Fehervary or Alexeyev would make this a really cool idea

that's definitely an interesting and intriguing offer, only issue is we'd be taking a lot of cap in

I don't mean without Buffalo adding something else too. As Buffalo I would want some kind of tier 2 D prospect back so that we weren't leaving ourselves without some potential talent.

Overpaid? Kuzy is a 75-80 point center? Under 8 million $$Lmfao Haula is 30-40 point center. Man that’ll really help the Sabres. Great idea. Haula would be a massive upgrade to the current roster lol

Couture would definitely waive to Buffalo. If San Jose is looking to do a 2-3 year retool they should look to moving him while his value is still high

Capitals are giving up a top 20 center that would easily improve this team. Everyone is freaking out over the unprotected 1st but what incentive do that capitals have to trade Kuzy? They get a solid RHD and a 15-20 draft pick. Sounds fair

Okay and you think that he’ll be cheaper than this? Go ahead and make a AGM for it. I’d be interested in the responses

Jokiharju would immediately be the #2 damn behind Carlson for the Caps... That's a pretty solid addition to the team. But I agree that Kuznetsov would be huge for Buffalo... it would be one of those trades where everyone has an opinion but only time will tell who wins it. Honestly though the cap hit is enough that Buffalo probably turns it down. Especially with the flat cap for a few years news.

Ive proposed #8 + Okposo + a B prospect for Couture + Sorensen in the past and both sides seemed to think it was fine. Buffalo gets a 2C that's a playoff beast without taking on to much cap (since Dahlin and Joker need raises next year). San Jose moves a long term contract for a top 10 pick and a cap dump that ends the year the need to pay Meier.

Joki would arguably be the # 3. Carlson and ORLOV are much better and Seig imo would be very close to him in skill. Kuzy is a #2 center and the 2nd beat player on the team

I don’t see anyway San Jose gives you him for that return. He’s worth way more than this and you Added a cap dump. That is my opinion though

I’ve seen sabre offering the 8oa for max domi. And he’s not a top 30 center

Orlov is solid but I honestly believe Jokiharju would be your number 2... might need another year before he overtakes Orlov but there's way more 5-on-5 upside to Jokiharju... Orlov is a beast though

I agree #8 will not be moved for Domi, he's more in the #15 range. As for my trade, San Jose is in a tough spot where they have a lot of expensive aging players locked up and not a lot of room to move them. Meier has a Qualifying Offer of 10M in 3 years. Sharks already lost their 1st this year which would have been #3oa, getting #8, moving out an 8M player signed until he is 38 taking on a short term dump helps them retool around their younger players.
