thats what u say u are spending 26.5m on THREE defensemen the contracts ur gm has handed out with these older players are just horrible u dont need both EK65 and Burns and if one leaves its burns but truly his contract will NOT be easy to move hes already 35

My big concern with Barrie & Piterangelo is the money they’re going to want. With a (likely) flat cap for the next 2 years, and the small increases after that, Dallas has to watch their money.

Between Gurianov, Hintz, Heiskanen, and Klingberg Dallas has some significant players that will be due for significant raises. If Barrie is willing to take a small pay cut due to Texas’ tax situation & his relationship with Benn I’m all for it. If not, I’d seriously consider going after Shattenkirk to play that 2RD role behind Klingberg.

Contract Goes till he’s 39 not 41
He’s not that horible on D but he’s not good
He needs a strong D oriented partner to offset his weakness and the sharks have that with Simek now
And let’s remember Rob Blake, Ray Borque, al MacInnis all played well and all star level into their 40’s! and burns is a similar style player with no major injuries or health concerns.
I have no issue with his contract

EKG65 the heartless wonder and MEV those are dumpster fire contracts killing our ability to succeed

its until hes 40 the dallas stars do not need to add 8m to their cap hit for him when they already have offensive minded defensemen hes not needed in dallas people need to stop sending him to dallas i 100% firmly believe hes going to seattle

ya i totally agree im just saying id rather sign a guy like barrie or shattenkirk who have defensive liabilities arent 35 already and for cheaper and i totally think barrie would sign a cheaper deal to go to dallas that would be a very very nice top 4 would rather not give up assets for burns for christ sake not worth it for any team besides seattle in my eyes
