Here I go again

Created by: Rob32sjsharks
Team: 2020-21 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 8, 2020
Published: Jul. 8, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Didn’t give up our 1st, yet have a competitive team!
I crunched the numbers and
Offense Will be much improved and stronger depth and that equates to 264 goals
Defense shifts slightly to prevent odd man rushes and Georgiev becomes a beast and steals the starter roll
Georgiev 55 games 2.66 GAA 913 S%
Jones. 27 games 3.13 GAS 897 S%
Add 11 en goals ( league average) we have 243 goals against

264-243 = + 21 goals

To compare the last full season St. Louis was plus 24 -99 points
Sharks were + 28 -101 Vegas was +19 - 93 points

So I figure this team winds up 44-30-8 with 96 points and safely into the playoffs.

Guess i just don’t see how this team is competitive at all. Better to just go the other way and tear down as much as you can.

pretty weak to be honest

it probably takes a little more to get Strome and Georgiev but it's fairly close

-Strome costs more to sign though
-Kellman and Sorensen are probably best on the 4th line
-Johnsson is probably best on the 3rd line
-Heed isn't a great option to start

I figure but I’ve watched 3-4 rangers posts with that exact same trade so I’m ok
I don’t see Strome getting much more than 3.7-4 but knowing he will want to get paid soon I figure/hope he accepts the “bridge deal” to get to his big payday.
And heed is signed as a 6/7 D with the hope Merkley has a strong cap and takes 6th spot or another sleeper like Ferraro
As for Johnson I’ve watched film and he’s really talented and with couture I feel he gets to 20-22 goals 40-45 point (not far off his 3rd line stats in Tor) and threats 2 Nd line caliber
Thornton kellman and sorenson is a weak 3rd strong 4th line to me and same with Marleau gambrel noesen so it’s a toss which is which I figure a kid or two will push gambrel and noesen for playing time and these two lines will shuffle quite a bit.
If everything plays right this is a solid good team
If not we’re a first round and done but either way we’re playoff caliber IMO

I feel you and I wana trade everything and ottowa it ( 6-7 picks in the first 3 rounds for 3-4 years to bulk up the prospect pool and create a solid foundation to build on, but the ownership and GM see us as winners and want to re-tool not re-build.

Rangers pass strome is worth near a first and his bridge deal will be closer to 5 mil and Georgiev for labanc is close plus we have no need for labanc
