The wait is over! Can’t really see anything blatantly wrong with these proposals. The Detroit trade I’m iffy on just because I don’t know Johansson too well.

He was in the AHL allstar game this year, but he's not going to have a chance in Buffalo with UPL being the golden boy and his time line being similar with only 1 spot in Buffalo, the other owned by Ullmark. Detroit needs goalie prospects too

We have a boat load of prospects sitting in Grand Rapids but I wouldn’t feel comfortable with any of them in the NHL next season. You think Johansson should be a capable backup next season?

Johansson had 5 starts and 1 relief appearence. He looked alright, but he didnt look confident, nothing really mechanically wrong. He may be able to split some time between the A and the NHL. IDK how his offseason training looks, but I'd feel confident that out of the prospects Detroit has, he'd be well ahead of them

I just don’t understand why ppl keep reading for 3rd liners?!?!
We have more than enough

And I’d like to think we’ve learned our lesson by now
No more 3rd liners at 2C especially
There’s a bunch of Leafs fans that don’t even like Kerfoot at Center in the 3rd line

Jack is way too pissed off to take another big risk at the 2C spot like this

I honestly dont have any idea what you expect. The Sabres arent dealing from a position of strength for the reason you laid out. You literally find an excuse to shoot down every trade. Do you think Boston is going to feel sorry for us and flip Bergeron to us for 8 oa. Teams arent going to give up their #2 centers. The teams that would trade them, dont have 2Cs to trade. Youre going to have to find someone that teams are willing to move and dont have NTC or NMCs. Kinda limits the pool. At least Kerfoot has decent underlying numbers to work with: https://public.tableau.com/shared/BJBDSMP5C?:display_count=y&:origin=viz_share_link

I shoot down all your worst case scenarios bc.....
1- why not be more positive???
2- they’re bad ideas!!!

If we get a garbage 2C like Wennberg, Kerfoot, etc...
then u can say u told me so

In the meantime...
makes a hell of a lot more sense to at least be a little more OPTIMISTIC

Not saying every team u do needs to shoot for the stars with a Cirelli type deal....
But at least bring in a really good 3C like Bonino

Data doesnt lie, sorry. he was a 40 pt+ player in Colorado. I watch enough hockey, poor cop-out. If you're just going to eschew data, because it goes against your feelings and it doesnt fit you're narrative, all to common these days, I cant take your opinion serious. Not even accounting for the cost of attaining Cirelli or Bonino. Bonino way more likely, but again, why would Nashville want to get rid of him when they're a contender

And he’s not a 40pt guy ANYMORE
And even if he was, that’s weak af for 2C
He’s been so mediocre in Toronto that they moved him to the wing bc he couldn’t hack it at 3C
That tells me he can maybe perform in certain situations,
like he did in Colorado
But what evidence says him in Buffalo would be like he was in Colorado??? How do u know it wouldn’t be just like Toronto???
It’s a giant risk
Just more of the same BS that we’ve been failing at since the O’Reilly trade

U obviously are ok risking the 2C position with mediocre players
I think that’s a terrible idea

Kerfoot played 2LW with Tavares much of the second half. Keefe wouldn't play him 3C then I don't think its reasonable to play him at 2C... unless the idea is to be in the lottery again next year. In which case Eichel probably asks for a trade.
