Buf needs 1 2c not 3 3c

Buf really isnt in that bad of a position.

Defense looks way better than a few years ago. We had some of the best 5v5 GA in the league. Goaltending was ok especially with ullmark.
If hutton didnt lose 12 games in a row it could be different. And if ullmark didn't get hurt.

The biggest flaw is the lack of a 2C and the special teams they were the bottom for PP and PK those numbers improve it's a playoff team

however, their current roster does not have any viable NHL 2nd liners (assuming Skinner, Eichel and Reinhart are the 1st line - ok maybe Olofsson).

It took major failures of the PK, PP, Hutton, Skinner, Sheary, Vesey and Rodrigues to miss the preliminary round.
If the just GK and PK was better, they would have been close to the leafs.

You are missing Kahun and Johansson as second line forwards who played last year.

You are also over looking Cozens, Mittelstadt and Thompson who all could be on the team next year.

While it is not a Stanley Cup team, it is very close to being a playoff team.

I would argue that kahun or MoJo could be a viable 2nd line winger. Maybe even Mittelstadt although he is unproven. But having a good center makes your linemates better
