Description

I'll be honest I don't follow the Avalanche enough (just like the rest of the NHL) to know who they would fill the fourth line with next year or line combos or which RFAs are priorities. Also feel free to call me out for RFA signings with cap hits that seem off. idk.
Also is Sam Girard really worth his cap hit or are the Avalanche going to let him go to Seattle?

1st off Makar EASILY makes the 1st line over Petro anf 2nd what happens when you need to resign Makar?

Yeah Girard is worth $5M, no doubt. Zadorov will likely be the one who is moved.

Graves should be plugged in in lieu of Pietrangelo. The team will likely chase Taylor Hall, but can't afford to add after that (they'll need to pay Makar after next season).

Yeah true, didn't really adjust most lines beyond order by salary. Seattle draft could be used to free up cap space and I don't think many of the other contracts are going to be hard to trade. If it is a major worry give Hall less term.

Girard is their best Dman, burakovsky is being re-signed and playing in the top 6 and the bottom 6 untouched will probably look like, nichushkin jost compher and calvert bellemare kaut, zadorov probably won't be here next season

Girard is a beast and part of the d-Corp for the next 7 yrs his contract will be a bargain by far your biggest miss.

The worst thing the Avs could do would be to tie that much money up into UFA’s. The Avs have Byram and Timmins on the cusp and Byram is a 1D.

Burakovsky is the most important RFA and you skipped him all together.

Zadorov is the most likely dman to get moved and $4.5 is an over pay for him.

Possibly the best course of action for the Avs is to do nothing in free agency except take care of their own. They have elite prospects in Byram and Newhook.
Top shelf prospects in Timmins, Bowers, Kaut and Annunen.
An array of prospects who are going to play in the NHL in Ranta, Kovalenko, Helleson
And a large number of prospects who are goo but are going to get caught up in a numbers crunch.

Girard is a stud that Nashville clearly undervalued in the extremely lopsided Duchene-Turris three way blockbuster.

Girard is a top pair D man and his 5M cap hit is a steal. He is not going anywhere
