Yeah, not this year.

Wayne Gretzky was traded, ever heard of him?

Do you even know anything about why Gretzky was traded?

Guy is getting sick of being on a bottom 5 or 10 team every year, but if he asks for a trade apparently they will just hold him hostage unless they get Gaudreau, Monahan, Lindholm, Tkachuk, Andersson, Pelletier, 1st, 1st, 1st in return. LOL

Some people are so delusional it blows my mind.

Or they could just keep their star center and trade other pieces. Wait, what? They can do that?

Yeah that's what I said, hold him hostage LOL

They've been trying that....about to pick 8th overall or higher for the 8th straight season.

I mean you mock the thought but why as an organization shouldn’t they? Seemed to work for The duschene and Drouin returns. If he would like to make 10M he will lace them up in Buffalo and play. If he wants to make any money anywhere else he can go get Rubles in Russia or wait for a trade that satisfies Buffalo. He had 6 years left. SIX. In other words not getting traded unless it meets multiple needs. This isn’t difficult to understand

They’re not trading away their star player and starting over. They’re also not that far away from competing for a playoff spot. They just need a 2C, one or two 3rd liners, and move out Risto. They don’t have to trade Eichel to compete.

You bet, they could that for sure, and he would finish the contract in Buffalo long before any one would trade the Sabres 1st liner, 1st liner, top prospect, 1st round pick, 1st round pick to get him. No one is paying that much.

No they won’t. What they will get is younger guys with potential. A first liner, an young NHL established player with first line potential, a teams top prospect or two pending on the level of prospects, a first and a couple other picks pending on where the first is and the level of prospects. Something along the lines of: Hirscher, Zacha, 7OA, Ty Smith, and Foote. Possibly another pick. This will piss off Sabres fans, but this is the reality of an Eichel trade. Also one that won’t happen.

Give it a rest. Bottom line, trading Eichel is unrealistic for both sides. The cost will be astronomical and not worth the risk for either side. It just makes no sense

Well then what the hell have been arguing about for the last 3 hours or whatever it's been?

You seemed to think that someone would be willing to pay that price, now you're back tracking.

...and I will "give it a rest" when I'm good and ready, LOL

I used to feel compasion for Sabres fans, but their recent defensive behavior toward any Eichel trade is starting to convince me that they cant evaluate NHL talent anymore and it's super annoying.

Every players on that team, including Eichel (NOT a top 10 NHL center at the moment), is overrated and fans need to get back to reality.

Haha. I don’t know what the hell we’re going back and forth about then. I’m just tired of seeing all the offers. They’re either not enough or even if it is ‘fair value’, he wouldn’t get traded for fair value. It would have to be a sure victory for the Sabres to do it. It’s just not happening

Look at the Eric Lindros trade they had to trade him he wouldn't even sign with Quebec but he did bring Quebec/Colorado a couple cups.

Right, but Eichel is signed for 5 more years. He’s not being traded. I know people think he is, but those are articles posted by ppl who want clicks on their website. There are zero Jack rumors in Buffalo. It’s not even a story. Everyone just makes fun of the rumors that people post and how ridiculous they are.

Everybody is an expert here. Buffalo trading Eichel with that much term left on his contract they are still holding all the cards. If he still isn't happy in the offseason before his final year of his contract that is when you will see his value drop. I don't think Buffalo fans should be too worried for a couple of seasons Thats because of Buffalo's response to him saying he is sick of losing you gut the entire coaching staff it says you are the most important part of the team and we will do whatever it takes to keep you happy.
