I agree with your point that people should even try to do eichel trades anymore because its divisive and we will never all agree.

I think people should read descriptions before commenting. Tongue in cheek is an extremely popular idiom meant to construe sarcasm masked as serious.

i will offer that no sabres fan wants to trade eichel.

the idea that he hates losing isn't news. the idea he has asked out or wants out is completely unfounded, so every sabres trade proposal on here is a response to nonsense.

Those two aren't even on the same level as Eichel is. Their respective trades aren't comparable to a potential Eichel trade. People like Eichel rarely ever get traded. The only similar type players I can think of would be like Joe Thornton or Lindros. Some of these trades are a little nutty, but I'd expect 2 Top 6 F / top prospect / 1st rounder in any Eichel trade.

As a Jets fan I've been working on an Eichel trade that i have yet to post from the Jets and it's pretty similar to what you have here, honestly I think it's pretty fair but that's just my opinion.

Yeah sorry Sabres fans come say that Domi + 2nd or Paul Statsny + 1st is a bad deal for the Sabres. Of course you’re gonna have overreactions on some, and in reality he won’t/shouldn’t be dealt unless it’s an overpayment. I didn’t bother reading all the proposals, but I will say that pasta + 2firsts is just as laughable (from the Bruins side) as Eichel for Statsny + 2firsts. (From Buf side). Honestly this is a deal I would think would be considered from Buf side: Hischier, Zacha, 7OA, Ty Smith, and Foote from NJ. They’ll all tell me that’s overpayment, but like I said to get Him will be some form of overpayment. Most Buf fans prolly don’t even like the look of this, which if everyone is mad usually means it’s about fair.

IMO I don’t think it matters if he does. Think that’s overstated. Drouin and duchene demanded trades and their respective clubs declined until the right deal came along. I tried to build it out this way: star potential (Hischier) NHL player (Zacha, 2nd/3rd line guy) two top 5 organizational prospects (Foote and Smith) and the first. Honestly I really think they would get around this value for him. Add/subtract for wants and needs from both teams position wise.

Edit: and the reason I say it doesn’t matter if he asks is because he’s got 6 years left. That’s a long time, and Buffalo can afford to wait, even if he “demands”

Yeah just in doing some researcg, its a very old phrase thats is not commonly used now.

Again, maybe its more common where you are from. But here in the States its not commonly used

So again, no need to be rude. We can be friends here if you allow it.

Most importantly, lets start over again: We both agree that trades for eichel should stop being made because they are gonna be argued on both sides

The year before he was traded Seguin put up .66 ppg. Eichel this year was almost double at 1.15 ppg. His whole career in Boston was .59 ppg, while Eichel is at .95 ppg. Seguin was no where close to Eichel's level when he was in Boston. He was an inconsistent young center who had the potential to be a top guy. Eichel's already a top guy.

My opinion, no simply position based. Pasta is a top 5 winger, Eichel is top 10 center. Center just being more valuable. Not gonna argue with those that have a different opinion because pasta is a freak and warrants all the praise he gets.
