I'd rather have the 3rd than Lias Andersson. I don't see any upside there.

I LOVE this trade for both teams. Washington gets an absolute stud of a defender in Nils and essentially 2 1st round picks. Though I still doubt Washington does it. Realistically how many more years does Ovie have and Backstrom (though doubtful) could walk after this season.

imo if the capitals trade Kuzy its to make room for Mcmichaels… instead of Strome maybe swap him with another player. Im not exactly big on Strome only bc hes had an average-good career but he had a monster year playing with panarin. idk how much was him actually being good or how much was panarin just being an absolute monster. for that reason (cant guarantee ill get the same results without AP) I would much prefer a different player... or if you need to dump a center maybe Chytil and swap for a lesser pick

I don't think they can move both DeAngelo and Lundkvist. The whole point of moving Tony would be to free up both cap room and a position for Nils to come into.

    1. Rangers aren't moving Nils. Nils, Lindgren, Fox and Miller are gonna end up being our top 4 in a few years.

    2. Plus I don't know if the cap would work in the next couple years with all the players we have to sign (Fox, Shesty, Chytil, Mika, Lindgren, Buch, Kakko, etc). $40 mil in cap space in two years will be pretty much gone by the time those extensions are done. Have to think those extensions look something like this:
    $9.5 mil x 7 Mika
    $6.5 mil x 6 Shesty
$7.5 mil x 6 Kakko (hoping he develops)
    $5.25 mil x 5 Buch
    $4 mil x 4 Lindgren
    $8 mil x 8 Fox
    $4.625 mil x3 Chytil
(just guesses some may be too high/low, but that's $45.375 mil which still wouldn't fill out the roster

    3. This blocks Chytil from developing into 2nd line center for us so I'd rather stay patient and let him develop instead.

That'd be the goal for sure dude, but you can't bank on it and with a flat cap you need to plan for this and account for the next couple years to not end up in a bind.
