I think you misspelled Larkin. Lol I know Detroit likely not trading him, but he is the only piece in the Detroit organization worth giving up 8 o/a for

You don't trade a proven scorer for futures, There's no guarantee those players become any better then Mantha. Mantha stays healthy he should be at least a 30 goal 70 point power forward. He's pretty much just getting into his prime years now.

Why are we trading for Mantha our #8? He is not center and not always healthy.

Feel like galchenyuk is gonna cost a little more than that but i like the idea of him as 2C.
Also if were giving up the 8 OA for mantha we'll need something else from detroit, they got lots of great prospects they could spare for a pick that good

Mantha will be 30 by the time the wings are relevant. Wings are getting guaranteed 8oa in a deep top 10, a young goalie that was just in the AHL allstar game, and one of the Sabres best d prospects. Thats filling a lot of needs. Yeah Mantha is getting into his prime, what is Detroit going to do with it, even with Lafreniere that weren't going to challenge for a wild card spot. Futures is exactly what Detroit needs

Everybody is just looking to take advantage of every other team, those are the only wins for them

I love mantha but for 8 oa I'd probably move him.

For 8OA to deepen our scoring depth I dont mind it. I dont need a long term solution for 2c I expect Cozens to be there. If its a deal where were giving up Reinhart + 8oa that makes 0 sense as the Sabres dont improve their depth. Mantha's health is questionable I agree.

I would not trade Reinhart for Mantha one on one, and would not tradee our #8. Finding a winger for second link is much easier center.

Last year the Sabres started of with Sobotka at RW, they never found a decent winger for the 2nd line till they traded for Kahun. If Mantha is a 50-60 point player from that spot, that makes the centers life easier and Skinner's, or Olofsson. It creats space on the ice for them. Ive pretty much exhausted all my ideas for a 2C, their are not many options available

Well, do not forget that we had a GM idiot who for two years in a row thought that Vesey and Miller were more important than 2C. There are options in a free agency, there are different winges for trading.
