Not sure the Wings would say yes either. One guy coming off knee surgery with 3 years left on his contract (it takes 2 years to build up from that see Svech). One guy with his 5th team in 6 years as a 1 year rental. Plus a goalie prospect RFA rights.

All for 2x 2nds. Plus a 6/7 d-man. And a prospect that was highly thought of before hurting his knee that has taken 2 years to recover to full strength.

Pass....

It doesnt take 2 years to recover from knee surgery. Svech is the exception

Carolina say no. Not because Fleury and McGinn are untouchable, but we don't need more D men, cough up a 2nd and Fleury is yours, maybe a 4th for McGinn.

Wouldnt it just be Hamilton and Pesce on the right side and Skjei Slaavin and Gardiner on the left? Seems like itd be a great pick up for their d core

I think the Canucks would take a hard look at that trade offer. Nicely done on that one.

Slavin is more than capable of playing his offiside, and you've forgotten Bean who's the best D prospect not in the NHL right now (in terms of NHL readiness) Miller would be sat in the press box, and even if he wasn't, he doesn't hold the value Fleury did (playing top 4 minutes).

I would have factor Bean as a 7th dman, up and down for injuries this year. Depends on the AHL too

Bean would not be the 7 D man, that would hinder his development significantly. He'd be on the bottom pairing, it's why it's likely he either goes or Skjei/Fleury does this summer. Bean has achieved everything he can in the AHL, keeping down there will hurt him. Sitting him in the press box won't help either.

I can't see Toronto rejecting that. Deal

Arttu should be able to replace kapenan in a year or two and Svechnikov can fill in for johnsson. As for Bowey 1 year deal or flip him for value

Depends on when the surgery is and when training camp begins.

For a player that isn't able to begin skating against until August (or say late Nov now), they will be playing catch-up during this camp and become a year behind everyone else. But in general that first year back the player doesn't have that high gear they used to as they are playing catch-up to get into game shape starting from rehab skating shape.

“It’s a little bit, I wouldn’t say not in shape, but I can feel that I was not on the ice for all season,” Svechnikov said. “It’s kind of double work for me..."

that's why I say it takes two years...

Svech more than likely will be playing in the KHL soon. Johnsson a 7th round pick has A good season playing on a team with one of the best offenses in the league. Detroit isn't going to give up a second to rent a 30yr old Marcus Johansson for a season. Now Bowey for Jonas Johansson works for me.

Yeah like stay in the AHL and move up and down. D men take longer to develop and so far he has 2 games in the NHL

2nd for Johansson and a 2nd for Johnsson, Bowey and Svech for Marcus. Svechnikov plays with Mikheyev in Toronto and if he doesnt cut it, he goes to the KHL

Detroit's play callers would have a tough time letting the listeners know what Johnsson/Johansson they are talking about.

He's just toyed with the AHL this year. Keeping him down there won't help him develop. He's coming up
