So I'll take a middle six winger that isn't cost controlled and give you a top six winger that's controlled for 3 more years.

I see.

No from the Wings. Value isnt there and any team wanting Mantha would need to significantly overpay

Since he is Detroit's most talented player.

Toss up with him in Larkin but yeah. Mantha has said he wants to resign in Detroit and the Red Wings have given no indication that they want to trade him. I don't get where all these Mantha trades are coming from.

Lol how can you label Drouin a top 6 winger but label Burakovsky a middle 6 winger? Drouin has been gifted offensive ice time and top 6 mins in the past (likely because he has a high draft pick) and has never put up top 6 production, and now his ice time has decreased in each of the past 4 years. Burakovsky was stuck behind Ovechkin, Vrana, Oshie, Wilson, etc in WSH until this season, and now that he was given similar deployment as Drouin for 1 season he has already produced at a higher rate than Drouin ever has in his career. If anything I would rate them both as 2nd line wingers. Plus Burakovsky will be cheaper on his next deal than Drouin is right now and he is still under team control for another 2 years.

EDIT: actually he may only have 1 more year of control since he already has 6 years pro experience, so thats a fair point (even though I think he will stay with COL long term anyway)

also take into consideration that Bura is pretty good and defensively responsible, Drouin is a dumpster fire when asked to play any sort of 2 way game.

I wouldnt trade Bura straight up for Drouin. Bura fits the avs play style and identity more than Drouin. I hope he never plays on the same team as Mack for the rest of his NHL career, its so annoying

Hell No Jost is meh Zadorov is a bottom pairing LD in Detroit so no thanks. Colorado definitely needs to sweeten it up more then this.

The other thing I find ironic is that Montreal needs goals. Burakovsky is exactly the type of player they should be looking to add to their top six.

I agree that they need to sweeten the deal but the Zads is a bottom pairing Dman is such a low hanging fruit blanket statement for him. Hes more than a 3rd pairing guy, hes still a solid shut down defensive dman in that role,

Red wings dont need him. Hes the guy you get bc your a team that is deep and making a cup run. Avs shoudnt rush to get rid of him, but they are too deep on teh back end that someone just has to go

But hes considered one of the best in the league for Defensive Dman in that role. There are the fancy stats to back it up as well.

yeah they put way too much stock into him being a high draft pick years ago, he is french, and that he played wiht Mack in Junior. Way too much perceived fan value with him
