Marner To Carolina

Description
I've seen a lot of Leaf fans suggest that they should trade Marner for Pesce, and while I understand the purpose of it, I'm not sure it'll work. Carolina needs cap space to resign Svechnikov (likely 9-10 million), Necas (7-8 million) and Suzuki. Marner's cap hit is quite a large one as well, so I am going to try and make a team that fits all those guys while being cap compliant.

    That's highway robbery for Carolina LMAO. I'd do it walking away. Marner's fantastic: switch the 1st and maybe add Geekie to the return and it'll be more even.

    Thanks for letting me know your thoughts. I think Marner for Pesce 1 for 1 is fair, but I decided to add a bit more value from Toronto just to be safe.

    Carolina people certainly do like to over value Pesce... but this is absolutely laughable... a 90+ point forward, a high end D prospect, and a 1st rd pick for Carolinas current 3rd pairing RD. Seriously?!?

    Pesce has shown the ability to be a 2nd pairing RD... still not worth that haul from Toronto. FYI - a 3rd pairing dman getting less minutes and matchups vs 3rd and 4th lines that looks good in that role quite often gets hyped as 'should be a top pairing but isnt' because of the skewed appearance.

    this scenario is as likely as Pesce and Wallmark for Kapanen and Brown 'rumor.'

    But like come on, Pesce is good but not to that level of value. I'm a lot more of a Canes fan then I am of a Leafs fan. This is so incredibly lopsided

    he has shown that he could be top pairing, but with hamilton and slavin being them you cant justify him going above slavin. he fits well where he was playing

    maybe just trade Marner for who he is... a 94 point player at 22 and just getting better... not a subpar top 6 player

    wat i want to know is why do u rate him so low? your username suggests your a huge fan of him and fans usually overvalue their players (me as well)
    but u always seem to trade him for half his actual value

    you can prop up Pesce all you want... still isnt worth a 90 pt winger, a high end prospect and a 1st rd pick. Pesce aint Lidstrom aftter all.

    Habs pass, they don't really need LD next year: Romanov, Mete and Chariot,
    Maybe Kulak and a 7th for Skjei... and then Mete plays 3rd pair RD
